Latina Small Business Ownership Spotlight

Silvia, CEO of SMG, is a proud Salvadoran first-generation immigrant to the United States and the driving force behind our successful small business. Her journey from an immigrant with very little to the head of a thriving enterprise is a testament to her resilience and hard work.

Overcoming Challenges

Silvia’s story began in the 1980s when she arrived in the U.S. with little more than dreams. After years of struggling with a manufacturing business and eventually having to close it, Silvia felt the sting of failure. However, she didn’t let this define her future.

A New Path

Determined to reenter the workforce in her 40s while also raising five children, Silvia took up a part-time receptionist position at a CPA firm. This experience ignited her passion for accounting, leading her to pursue and obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Entrepreneurship with Compassion

Despite facing unwelcoming work environments, Silvia made a bold decision to start her own accounting firm. Driven by a desire to offer excellent and compassionate service, Silvia leveraged her personal experiences to help others navigate their financial challenges confidently.

Success and Fulfillment

Today, under Silvia’s leadership, SMG Business Services continues to thrive and grow. She is dedicated to helping passionate and resilient women and POC professional service providers gain financial confidence and build wealth. Silvia’s journey is an inspiring example of turning adversity into opportunity.
