I’m very passionate about using my 20+ years’ experience to help small business owners overcome financial challenges, and so being invited to teach at RESACON 2022 easily tops my list of honors and accomplishments this year. Hundreds of real estate home stagers gathered in Las Vegas to hear from myself and other experts at this year’s event, which is the industry’s largest annual conference.
Here’s a taste of what was discussed and what I loved most about my experience…
Don’t fall into the price trap of not charging what you’re worth. Competitive pricing is crucial for getting your foot in the door of whatever industry you’re pursuing, but a dangerously low price point will leave you with little to no profit left for yourself. Make sure you know what you’re worth, and charge accordingly!
No man is an island; actively look to work with people who are smarter than you. I am a huge advocate for continually learning, but no person is entirely self-sufficient. Find trusted experts in areas that you are not extremely proficient in and lean on their expertise. Here at SMG, our clients tell us all the time that they’re not a CPA and they don’t want to be. The good news is they don’t have to be!
I loved seeing how excited everyone was to see each other, and how hungry attendees were for knowledge. Let me tell you, real estate home stagers are a special breed of professionals. They are very hardworking and committed to learning and growing. RESACON has this incredible, infectious energy that I was excited to bring back with me to the SMG team.
We business owners have a lot in common, especially when it comes to financial matters. Our industries may be different, but our challenges are the same. I was honored and excited to have this opportunity to serve the RESA community. As always, contact our team to see how we can help your small business!
